Bio:
Great live with a charismatic and confident frontman, energy and attitude, they opened for The Music, The Guillimots, Idlewild, Stateless and The Mexicolas among others.
After taking a break to get the album finished, change the line-up, move to Manchester, earn some money and rehearse new material they plan to be back gigging and recording new material from September.
Intrinsically northern in attitude and ambition, the Blacklight capture a vibrancy and energy reminiscent of some of the better known musical giants of the north of England. From the laugh out loud funny ‘Older Women’ to the emotional intensity of ‘Tooley’s Tune’, written for the death of a teenage friend in a hit and run accident, from the angry rant of ‘Twisted Animation’ to the chilled and easy style of ‘Smoke Rings’ and ‘Summerblime’, the sheer scope of this debut LP sets them apart.
